Meenakshi Shukla
Dr. Meenakshi Shukla is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, India, with over seven years of teaching and research experience. Dr. Meenakshi Shukla is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Allahabad, India. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Banaras Hindu University, supported by prestigious fellowships such as the University Grants Commission (UGC) Junior and Senior Research Fellowships. Dr. Shukla was also the recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Split-Site (Ph.D.) Scholarship in 2016-2017 by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) and carried out her research work at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, & Neurosciences (IoPPN), King’s College, London, United Kingdom. She has also been awarded the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru Academic & Professional Excellence Fellowship, 2025-2026.
Her research interests focus on exploring the relationship between emotions, emotional disorders, and health. Dr. Shukla has published over 40 papers and book chapters in reputed national and international journals with high impact. She has presented research papers at over 40 national and international conferences, winning several Best Paper Awards. Dr. Shukla is a member of several esteemed national and international academic bodies, including the Indian Science Congress Association, the American Psychological Association, the International Association of Applied Psychology, and the Association for Psychological Science. She has contributed as a reviewer in several reputed journals, such as the Frontiers in Psychiatry, PLoS One, Personality and Individual Differences, Psychiatry Research, Mindfulness, BMC Public Health, and Journal of Affective Disorders, and reviewed over 100 manuscripts.
She has also coordinated/edited research topics for reputed journals, such as ‘Psychosomatic Issues Amongst Children and Adolescents: Risk and Protective Factors and Recent Advances in Evidence-Based Interventions (Journal of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry) and ‘Psychosomatic Symptoms in Adolescents: Understanding Mechanisms, Improving Assessment, and Enhancing Interventions’ (Frontiers in Psychiatry, Section: Psychological Therapies and Psychosomatics).
