Timothy first graduated with double bachelor degrees in Philosophy and Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He then worked as a research associate in Professor Ian Everall’s lab investigating the molecular mechanisms of HIV neuro-degeneration and gene-environment interactions in major depression. Timothy completed his medical degree from the University of Melbourne, began his psychiatry training in Australia, but has now joined the core training program at South London and Maudsley Trust to further expand his horizons. His interests include genetics in mental health, neurodegeneration, molecular psychiatry, ethics and philosophy of mind.
