Jo Edge

Profile photo of Jo Edge
Dr Jo Edge is a lived experience expert in obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and depression. Her life was turned around by a referral to the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma at the Maudsley Hospital in London. Her bugbears include meds-shaming; the postcode lottery (which she fully admits she has won); and just how misunderstood OCD is by both the general public and many professionals. She is also very keen on talking about mental health in academia. She holds a PhD in medieval medical history and works as a medical historian. When she has spare time she enjoys singing karaoke, petting dogs, talking about and being pedantic over history, ranting about politics, going on adventures and eating food.
