Leela is a psychology graduate of the University of Iowa. She is currently a psychiatric research assistant with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, a mobile crisis outreach counselor for CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank, and an instructor for NAMI’s Provider Education program. She is fascinated by the biological correlates and underlying processes of mental disorders; her current interests revolve around mood disorders, personality disorders, genetics and epigenetics, trauma, and resilience.
