Prof Kwame McKenzie is the CEO of Wellesley Institute, a policy think tank which aims to improve health and health equity. He is a physician who has specialised in Psychiatry and was trained at the Maudsley and Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London and Harvard University Social Medicine Department. He was a member of the Executive of the Royal College of Psychiatrists UK, he sits on the Mental Health and Addictions Leadership Advisory Council which advises the Minister of Health in Ontario, he has been a Deputy Director of Schizophrenia and then Medical Director for Child Youth and Families, Old Age and Dual Diagnosis at Canada's largest Academic Mental health Sciences Institute, CAMH.

Kwame McKensie publishes his debut Mental Elf blog on a recent cross-sectional study, which explores the relationship between national mental health expenditure and quality of care in longer-term psychiatric and social care facilities in Europe.
