This review of different surgical treatments for odontogenic keratocsysts (OKC) with respect to recurrence rates includes 40 observational studies. The finding suggest that enucleation plus peripheral ostectomy/curettage and 5-Fluorouracil had the lowest recurrence rate and enucleation alone the highest but the evidence is mainly of very low certainty.

Omega-3 fatty acids as an adjunct to non-surgical periodontal therapy

This review assessing the adjunctive effect of omega-3 (ω-3) fatty acids and non-surgical periodontal therapy (SRP)on probing pocket depth (PPD) and the clinical attachment level (CAL) included 10 RCTs. The findings suggest that adjunctive ω-3 fatty acids provides a 0.39 mm improvement in PPD and 0.41 mm of CAL gain.

Nursing home oral health care measures and pneumonia

The study highlights that there is limited understanding by family carers and older people of funding arrangements, and it often falls to the care home providers to supply information.

This Cochrane review update of the effects of oral care measures in preventing nursing home-acquired pneumonia inlides 6 RCTs. Low-certainty evidence suggests that professional oral care may reduce mortality compared to usual care when measured at 24 months but evidence for other effects is inconclusive.
