Dr. Stephen Naulls is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in General Psychiatry at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, with a research interest in addiction psychiatry and LGBTQIA+ mental health. He is leading the world’s first neuroimaging study on chemsex and has launched the ‘Chemsex and the Brain’ initiative to understand the long-term effects of chemsex on brain structure and function. Stephen has an MSc in Health Policy and also works for the UK Parliamentary Office of Science & Technology as a Parliamentary Academic Fellow, where he has published research briefings on a range of health-related topics. He was previously the National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow for the Health and Social Care Select Committee, where he managed the Committee’s inquiry into assisted dying and assisted suicide. He is also an experienced educator, having taught lifestyle medicine and prevention (LMAP) to over 300 medical students at Imperial College London.
