Sarah is a staff nurse at a child and adolescent mental health unit. She has spent over three years working in adult acute services, and has spent several years working with carers and supporting them through carers groups. She is interested in eating disorders, carers, substance misuse, bipolar and the impact of parental alcohol dependence on children.
Anorexia nervosa has long been known to have a poor prognosis and few effective treatments are available (Kaplan and Garfinkel, 1999).
