Ruijie is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Bournemouth University, specialising in cyberpsychology and human computer interaction. She has a background in both psychology and computing, and her recent research has a focus on transparency and explainability in technology and generative AI for users' informed choices. She is interested in investigating the role of human factors (e.g., the needs of target user group and stakeholders) in the design and evaluation of technology as well as the impact of technology on people’s lives, particularly in the field of online gambling and e-learning. Other interests include addictions (including gambling), AI, digital mental health, neurodevelopmental disorders and youth mental health.
