Pia is an MD, Senior Researcher, and Associate Clinical Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. In 2003, she has completed her PhD by conducting a randomised clinical trial of integrated versus standard psychiatric treatment of patients with a first episode of schizophrenia spectrum disorder. She is a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 2007. Her interests include clinical and epidemiological studies of the developmental trajectories to mental disorders, risk mechanisms, and new targets for intervention; randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of early and preventive interventions. Her recent research focuses on the design and evaluation of innovative psychosocial interventions informed by epidemiology and translational research.
