Tharindi Udalagama
Tharindi is a researcher whose work focuses on health, community, and everyday life in rural Sri Lanka.
With a background in sociology and anthropology, her studies explore how everyday experiences of kinship, care, and crisis intersect with pressing issues such as pesticide poisoning, women’s mental wellbeing, and health disparities.
She has worked closely with local communities, health professionals, and international collaborators to design research that not only advances
knowledge but also informs practical interventions.
Now based in the UK, Tharindi continues to build projects that bridge social
science and public health, with the aim of making research meaningful for the people whose lives it touches.
