Kayley is a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford, working within the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine. She is currently involved in a smoking reduction trial for people with serious mental illness and has previously worked in the department’s Health Behaviours team on weight management support studies. Kayley holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham and a Master’s degree in Health Psychology. Alongside her academic work, she has several years of experience working within the NHS as a Wellbeing Worker for the mental health charity MIND, where she provided direct support to individuals to improve their mental wellbeing. Her research interests include holistic approaches to mental health, nutritional psychiatry, women’s health, and the development of effective interventions for depression.

Asking preadolescents about suicide does not increase suicidal thoughts

Repeated suicide screening was not associated with iatrogenic effects in preadolescents with and without a history of suicidal thoughts.
