Emily has worked at the University of Sheffield since 2015, where she specialises in researching factors affecting the mental health workforce, including system changes, such as introducing new roles, and retention of the workforce. She is also interested in trauma as a cause of mental illness and trauma therapies. She worked as a registered mental health nurse in a variety of settings, including inpatient wards and community mental health services, before commencing her PhD in psychological therapies in 2011.
