Demetra is a postgraduate student in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at UCL and a researcher, aspiring to become a clinical academic incorporating research and practice to her daily life. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, depression and anxiety disorders, individuals with ‘personality disorders’/complex emotional needs (CEN), bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, psychosis, substance use disorders, as well as CBT and third-wave therapies such as ACT. She is passionate about improving communication between clinicians, service users, clients, and carers, while also addressing the stigma that often surrounds mental health diagnoses. Through this blog, she aims to share insights and findings from a cluster randomised clinical trial, contributing to a deeper understanding of mental health challenges and evidence-based care in low- and middle-income countries. Her commitment to this field is driven by a desire to provide compassionate, informed, and collaborative interventions, ultimately supporting individuals as they navigate complex mental health experiences.
