Kirsten is a researcher at the University of Strathclyde, School of Psychological Sciences, and has recently submitted her PhD examining the links between symptoms of sleep disturbance and self-harmful thoughts and behaviours during adolescence. Her research interests focus primarily on adolescent sleep and mental health, as well as the theoretically derived psychological processes driving self-harm (with and without suicidal intent). Kirsten also conducts research which investigates strategies for violence prevention across a range of settings. She is a member of the editorial team of netECR, the International Network of Early Career Researchers in Suicide and Self-harm.
